applying for a room 1 wet day play buddy

Room 1 sent room 9 a wanted poster that said room 1 needed a wet day play buddy. So room 9 started writing letters to room 1 asking if they could apply for the job of being a wet day play buddy. Room 9 had to write how good they were how sensible they are and how playful they are. Once the letters were finished we gave them to Mrs Pearl to send to room 1. Some people did not want to apply for the job but they had to write the letter and Mrs Pearl would not send them. Lots of us hope we get the job and become a wet day play buddy.

Not long ago 2 visitors came to visit Hampton Hill School. Their names were Vincent Aspey and Julianne Payne. They came to play a duet for the school, it was nice and peaceful. They complimented us on our good behaviour and good listening,Well done Hampton Hill. Jullianne Payne goes to Tawa College and Vincent Aspey taught her how to play. It was great!

White on white masks by Jackson

For art we made white on white masks. We had to make designs with other white paper. Then Mrs Quirk showed us some other ways for making different designs like curving the paper. We made eye holes to see through we had to put on a nose, a mouth, ears and hair. Then we had to stick them on our big paper.

Singing at assembily by Jasmine.

At assembily,Brittany,Jade,Mishayla and Jasmine, were singing I'm yours by Jason Maraz. Everyone was quiet. It was kind of hard to try to sing loud and remember all the timings. Since we all new some of the words it made it easier. We also had to learn all the words we didn't know. Everyone in the group were nervous except Jasmine.

Anzac biscuits By Ashlee

We made Anzac biscuits at school for Anzac day. First we had to get into our working groups, then we went to the art table and started to mix up all the flour, sugar, rolled oats and coconut. Then our teacher went away and melted the butter and golden syrup. Later on we got to eat them. They tasted yummy and you could taste the golden syrup and coconut.

Giant poppies

On Thursday the 22nd we had a challenge to see who could make the widest, tallest and most original poppy. We had to make them out of black and red paper. We also had to make the stand and the stalk out of rolled up news paper.
