In Room 9 we sketched a flower in our art scrap book, then later on in the day we drew on a cartridge paper with chalk. On the paper we sketch the flower that we drew earlier in the day. After we finished drawing the flower we got the pastels to make it fit in with the dye. When we finished doing pastal we dyed it.
Trip to Te Papa, By Gloria.L
On the 17th February room 9 and 5 went to Te Papa to learn about disasters, how much they can damage and what to do about it to keep safe. Rivia and Julie showed as around Te Papa and taught us how to keep safe. First we all got split in to two groups, room 5 and room 9. Room 9 went first to learn about disasters. Room 9 went to see the map of New Zealand and to spot whereabouts the disasters are held. After we went to this new place where you can take a picture and drag it down. Next you have to look for the shape that it shows on the little screen to the big screen. After that we went to the earthquake house. It was really fun. Afterwards room 9 got to go and have free time around Te Papa.

PE by Olivia
On Thursday 11/2/10 we played a game called Bombard, where we have a yellow ball in the centre and you have 5 tennis balls and 6 players per team. What you have to do is you have to hit the yellow ball in the centre with the tennis balls and get the yellow ball into the goal. The kids in room 9 enjoyed it and I hope to play it again.
Sketches by Shanyn K
On Wednseday 10/2/10 we sketched fish in our art book. First we ruled four boxes, then we got pieces of paper with lots of sea animals and we had to draw them, then shade them with our own pencils. Once we'd done that we were able to use graphite and charcoal pencils. The graphite pencils were lighter than the charcoal pencils. The charcoal was very dark and was harder to use.

This week we have been doing art. First we got a piece of paper then we had to write our names on the piece of paper first normally in crayon, then upside down in crayon. Then it made it look like a refliction. Next we had to die it.
Writing by Shannon
This week for writing we made acrostic poems by getting a piece of computer paper and in capital letters writing our name down the side of the paper, after that we thought about ourselves and wrote for each letter something about ourself it was a poem so it could say Animal lover I am. This is my acrostic poem.
Star sign is capricorn
Hate animal cruelty
Artist in progress
Not a spider lover
Not a fan of poachers
Oranges are ok
Nice to animals
